My Letter of Intent

The whole purpose of this blog is to give you, my potential employer a much better idea of who I am as a person than a simple paper or electronic resume could ever give you. I think that an applicant should stand out and jump out of their application and this is my way of doing just that.

Over the years I have always loved public speaking and advocating for causes that I have believed in. As such the idea of becoming a lobbyist just fell into place for me, it seemed logical. Why would I not want to be in a field where I could use my natural abilities to fight and advocate for causes and corporations that I back with all of my heart. I think my passion is evident once you get to know me and this blog is my way of getting us acquainted. Enjoy and I hope to meet with you very soon.

My Resume and Cover Letter

As a current student at The College of New Jersey I am always trying new things and attempting to give back to my community through both my employment and my volunteer experiences. I am lucky enough to be attending an institution that values achievements and success and as such I am very proud of my achievements over the years. With that in mind I would like to show you my resume and my cover letter, both of which highlight my past expiriences and achievements inside and outside of academia.

Some of my writing

Attached to this entry are a couple of the papers that I have recently written for my academics:

This first paper is a film studies term paper that I wrote this past semester for my Film and Society class. The paper takes a closer look at one of my favorite movies: Fight Club. I really enjoyed writing this paper and I hope you enjoy it while also seeing what I have to offer in regards to my writing abilities.

This second example is actually an argumentative essay that I wrote for a philosophy class that I am currently taking. If you have not noticed already I really want to show you how versatile I am in regards to my education and knowledge.

Well i hope you enjoyed the reading, and hey maybe you even learned something! Until next time!

A couple examples of my research

These are two studies that I have conducted in recent years, i am very proud of them and I believe they provide good insight as to the research abilities and precision that I bring to the table.

My first research project that I conducted was for my Interpersonal Communication course. My topic focused upon aggression in young-adult males during conflict situations. I surveyed over a hundred people and complied the results to draw my own conclusions on the subject. I hope you like it, I put a lot of blood sweat and tears into it after all.

The second research project that I would like to show you is one that I actually finished just recently. Part of the curriculum for my Intergender Communication class, this study was designed by myself and focused upon the importance of physical attraction in cross-gender relationships. The study was administered to over 500 people thanks to the help of my classmates.

My Public Relations Plan

This post is actually about a project that I am extremely proud of and consider one of my greatest academic achievements/ experiences at TCNJ so far.

In my strategies of public relations class My group and I created a public relations plan for our campus' health services department. In the plan we accessed the department for flaws, conducted surveys, and proposed potential solutions to their public relations issues. The department actually went on to implement many of our recommendations in recent years.

One of my greatest passions

There are many things that I feel passionate about in my life (my family, my studies, my clients), but one of the things that I value most of all is the Jersey Shore and it's preservation. Unfortunately our beaches right here in new jersey are at risk and it is up to us to save them.

Knowing that, I became an active member of the Surfrider Foundation and its side-projects The Snowrider Project and project BLUE back in 2004. The Surfrider Foundation is a non-profit organization which is dedicated to the preservation and protection of beaches and oceans across the world. As a member, I join the Foundation in its efforts to protect the Jersey shore through attending local events and cleanups and assisting in the set-up process of those events whenever possible. In the end, this is a cause that I love, and it is a perfect example of how I let my passions lead and drive me.
